Elizabeth Anne Designs and The Sweetest Occasion are teaming up again to hold the Inspired Creations Contest #2: Glitter and Glam!

At Elizabeth Anne Designs and The Sweetest Occasion, we share a belief that the best weddings are those that are unique and personal to the couple, as well as a passion for the sweet details that make occasions large and small personal and unique. With that in mind, we are excited to once again challenge wedding vendors to team up and create an original wedding concept to inspire couples as they plan their celebration.

The Challenge: This time we’re switching things up and asking you to incorporate a little glitz and glam when dreaming up your great ideas. We’re loving watching sequins and glitter emerge as the hot trend for weddings in 2011, but want to see how you can take the trend and make it truly one of a kind. With that in mind, to be eligible for prize contention, all entries must include glitter, sparkle or metallics in some way. So bust out your glitter and start brainstorming!

(Note: glitter/sparkle does not have to steal center stage in your design, but must be incorporated in a fun and unique way. Feel free to interpret the challenge however you’d like!)

The possibilities for your concept are limitless! Here are a few examples of concepts you may want to create:

  • Tabletop design
  • Place setting
  • Favors
  • Guest book concept
  • Ceremony or reception decor
  • Food and/or drink display

Anything goes, so get a little wild and think outside the box! The catch? Please be sure to spend no more than $500 on materials for your creation — your goal is to inspire couples to infuse their celebration with personal touches that are inspired and unique, yet approachable for most every budget.

Each eligible vendor (see submissions requirements for details) on the teams judged to have the top three most creative and unique ideas will win:

Grand Prize Team: Six months of front page advertising on both Elizabeth Anne Designs and The Sweetest Occasion, as well as annual featured vendor listings on Elizabeth Anne Designs or annual Sweet Shops listings on The Sweetest Occasion. For a team with the maximum four eligible vendors, that’s a total prize value of over $7,000!

2nd Runner-up Team: 1 month of front page advertising on both Elizabeth Anne Designs and The Sweetest Occasion and annual featured vendor listings on Elizabeth Anne Designs or annual Sweet Shops listings on The Sweetest Occasion ($2,180 value)

3rd Runner-up Team: Annual featured vendor listings on Elizabeth Anne Designs or annual Sweet Shops listings on The Sweetest Occasion ($1,200 value)

In addition to the fabulous prizes we’ll be handing out to the top three teams, every submission will receive editorial coverage on Elizabeth Anne Designs and/or The Sweetest Occasion, subject to the terms and conditions outlined below.

The winner and runners-up will be determined by Ami, Cyd and a panel of guest judges along with input from the readers of Elizabeth Anne Designs and The Sweetest Occasion.

SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS

All information must be received via email to [email protected].

Teams are welcome to involve as many vendors as they wish on their project. However only four vendors, that your team designates at the time of submission, will be eligible for prizes.

Vendors who choose to contribute to multiple creative teams may only be eligible for prizes on one concept. For example, a photographer who shoots four concepts can only be an eligible vendor for prize-winning purposes on one of the four concept submissions.

After you have formed your vendor team, email us a list of your team’s vendors and a brief summary of your concept (one email per team please).  Please include twitter names if possible. We want to get everyone excited about your participation!

Complete submissions must be received by Friday, 4/1/2011. To be eligible, each submission must include:

  1. A breakdown of how your $500 budget was used. If a source list of where items were purchased is available, please include that as well.  Donations of materials and labor do not count towards your budget.
  2. No less than 20 individual photos of your concept (the more to choose from the better!), sized at 650px width, in a zipped file or via You Send It or Dropbox. Photos should not include frames or watermarks; all photographers will be appropriately credited and linked. Only submissions with professional-quality photography will be considered for entry.
  3. A list of all participating vendors and their website links. If more than four vendors are on your team, please also include a list of the four vendors that will be eligible for the prize winnings.
  4. Editorial text detailing the inspiration, the concept, the materials used, any handmade elements (bonus points for DIY instructions!), special/personal items incorporated into the shoot, and any other details that your team would like to highlight.

We will confirm receipt of your submission via email.

Teams are encouraged to Tweet and blog about their participation in the contest. However, no photographs of the submission may be published on any blog, including your own, or on Twitter prior to publication on Elizabeth Anne Designs and/or The Sweetest Occasion. Publication prior to the unveiling of your concept on Elizabeth Anne Designs and/or The Sweetest Occasion will void your submission.

We will email you when your concept has been blogged, and at that point we would love it if you would shout your creative genius from the rooftops!
