Rebekah J Murray

We heart our EAD vendor guide members. They are super talented, incredibly professional and most importantly, beautiful people with a passion for making their clients’ wedding days an unforgettable experience. Today we are thrilled to spotlight one of these spectacular vendors and give you a deeper look into her life, style and work! Rebekah J Murray is based in DC, but travels the world making art (and friends) while creating images that make us swoon.

Behind the Lens RJM

Rebekah’s love for taking photos began at an early age when her photographer father began teaching her about the art form. While she went to school to study graphic design, she took a job in a photo studio for “just one day”…which led to another day…and another. Soon she was hired as the studio manager and second shooter for all weddings and events. While working at this studio, Rebekah realized her true love for wedding photography and started her own business.  After a few years of balancing both jobs, she decided to go full-time on her own.

Rebekah combines her documentary shooting style with the direction of her clients’ preferences to capture both the raw beauty and the important moments of a couple’s wedding day. Her images are romantic, natural and exhibit a storybook artfulness that takes our breath away! She becomes genuine friends with her clients, and it’s no wonder she keeps in touch with many of them years after their wedding. Rebekah understands the personalities and expectations of each couple and gives them a tailored experience as she steps back and shoots not just a formula of poses, but all the little stories that make up the wedding day.

Rebekah photographs most weddings around her Washington DC home, but destination weddings are her absolute favorite! In her six years of wedding shooting, she has worked in Scotland, England, Puerto Rico, Cancun and Jamaica. The British Isles hold a special place in her heart, so if you’re considering a romantic wedding in that region, we have a photographer for you! (Here is a simply magical Scottish one we have featured previously on EAD!)
