Summer is almost here! With warmer temperatures and the end of school, we can’t help but flash back to the summers we spent building forts in the woods, learning to maneuver a canoe, or hiding in a cabin listening to thunderstorms. So, grab your wool blanket, a good marshmallow-roasting stick, and check out our summer camp inspiration!
It’s taken just about every bit of restraint I’ve got to keep myself from driving to the beach in this incredible weather. Anyone else with me on that? For now we’ll have to settle for living vicariously through this gorgeous nautical shoot from Brooke Roberts Photography. I can feel the breeze now on this glorious Jekyll Island wharf, and taste the delicious seafood placed so beautifully on this table set for two. And those perfectly blue and white florals by English Gardens? Simply divine. The natural, rustic beauty of this seaside shoot will keep me from driving to the beach…at least until the weekend!
The early snowfall in the Northeast already has me longing for the days of summer and more than anything I want to just Mary Poppins my way into this gorgeous wedding shoot designed by Nashville’s Amber Housley. I adore every.single.detail. The delicate blooms from Brocade Designs and sweet red white and blue color palette are equal parts vintage, rustic and preppy… and uber-Americana to boot! We leave you this week with bowties, pinwheels, and berry-filled drinks thanks to the gorgeous photography of Kristyn Hogan!
The moment I saw this image of Christina Hendricks I knew it was the perfect image to create a board around. She’s stunning, and the color palette of coral and soft pink is one I’ve always loved – but pair it with a dose of lemon yellow and you have what Christen and I lovingly dubbed summer salad! Fresh and cheerful, bright and sunshiney, this is one inspiration board I’m absolutely loving – and of course, it’s perfect for lemonade week!
Hammered spoons are a beautiful addition to your wedding tabletop. Perfect for an elegant, rustic wedding, use them as favors, escort cards, or table numbers – the options are endless. I’m so happy to have McKenzie Brickl of La La Soiree and Kate Sommers of KNG Sommers Photography stop by EAD today to share a step-by-step tutorial for creating your own hammered spoon place cards, and you can see them in action on a lovely olive green and gold tabletop they created!
As 2020 draws to a close and we usher in a new year with its new hopes and goals, there’s guaranteed to be quite a bit of celebrating around the world. And while our celebrations are sure to look different than they usually do, whether it’s a cozy night at home watching the virtual stream of the Times Square ball drop, or counting down over a zoom party with friends, there’s still nothing that marks a celebration more than with a good toast! Champagne or sparkling wine usually take centerstage during these moments, both in weddings and on New Year’s Eve, and there’s really no reason not to break out or break in some new glasses to start making memories now! So whether you’re toasting to a new name or a new year, here are some of our favorite glasses to help ring in the occasion!
It’s Valentine’s Day, and as we all know, Valentine’s is meant to be enjoyed with the one(s) you love, so what better way to celebrate than with a fabulous Galentine’s Day brunch! Emily Elizabeth Events created this adorable “Girl Gang Gathering”, where she and several of her closest friends came together to sip, eat, chat, make Valentine’s Day cards, and create floral arrangements, and this is one party we wish we could attend! Pink and gold stationery from Paper Delights invited each lady to the gathering, where they were greeted with balloons festooning the entrance to Seattle’s Ollie Quinn and the most gorgeous tabletop with florals by Emily Elizabeth Events and dusty pink linens from La Tavola. We’re loving chic and modern details like acrylic standing mirrors, cut-out name place cards, and pink lip cookies, and the romance and elegance of the compote centerpieces, textured fabrics, and vintage trays displaying sips and bites. Galentine’s has never looked so fabulous and we are head over heels for every moment, captured beautifully on film by Blue Rose Photography!
Be still our hearts! Breanna and Joey’s black tie affair has our tickers going pitter-patter! Breanna and Joey are both Pasadena born and raised, so a classic and elegant Pasadena wedding was a dream for each of them and their families. They were married in the same church that Breanna’s parents were married in 31 years prior—by the same priest no less!—and Breanna’s brother’s band Flights Over Phoenix performed “Hallelujah” during the meaningful ceremony. The stately Athenaeum was the setting for their 275-guest reception. The couple worked with Savoir Flair Weddings and iXora Floral Studio to create a timeless, romantic, and intimate atmosphere with a rich color palette of cream, blush, champagne, and white. A mix of round and king’s tables were set beneath the Athenaeum’s portico and a canopy of exquisite blush draping, and arrangements of low and lush florals were interlaced between candelabras and soft greenery, helping to make their large wedding feel cozy and intimate. Our favorite detail? A showstopping sweetheart table with a gorgeous cascading floral garland. We are absolutely spellbound by this incredibly gorgeous day and all of the stunning images captured by Steve Steinhardt!
Have you heard the news? Greenery is Pantone’s color of the year for 2017! Incredibly elegant and sophisticated, greenery transforms bouquets, drapery, tablescapes, and even chandeliers into woodland works of floral art.
